Price Increase May 1st 2024

The adjustment in prices is necessary to address the rising costs associated with providing high-quality facilities, equipment, and staffing. This change ensures we can continue delivering excellent service.

Yes, we offer various concessions for individuals that may need some financial help to enjoy using leisure facilities; If you are over the age of 65, a student, have a disability/long term condition, a low earner/receiving benefits or a veteran living in Trafford our concessionary scheme holders can benefit from up to 50% off the gym, swim, classes or racquets. Members with fixed-term contracts will be affected by the price increase with NO change to the time period. Any changes to pricing affecting your plan will be communicated well in advance and if you have any concerns, please contact the customer hub directly. 

In the event of changes to your membership terms, including price adjustments, we will inform you in advance via email, detailing the modifications. Should these changes not meet your satisfaction, you have the option to cancel your membership in accordance with the process outlined in section 5 of the terms and conditions.

We recognize the significance of your child’s progress in our swimming lessons. Our lesson prices are set based on the overall costs involved in providing quality instruction and facilities. If you have concerns regarding your child’s progress, we encourage you to reach out to our Swim-Well team for a discussion or share your feedback directly at our feedback form. We’re committed to ensuring that every child fully benefits from their swimming lessons.

Helping our residents over the age of 65+ to keep active and inspire others to do the same is integral to Trafford Leisure achieving our Vision and supporting our strategic outcomes. Trafford Leisure receives no financial funding to provide a concessionary scheme or discounted memberships such as 65+ but as a community interest company we feel this is the right thing to do.   

We aim to strike a balance between keeping our services affordable for seniors and maintaining the high quality of our offerings. The new pricing ensures that from around £6 per week, our most senior of customers can enjoy unlimited fitness, swimming and racquet’s sports. We ensure our pricing remains competitive by comparing our services with others in the market, focusing on delivering value through access to a wide range of health and wellness facilities and classes. Yes, the price increase also applies to Pay and Play customers. We strive to ensure our pricing reflects the quality and value of the services we offer while remaining competitive. Trafford Council have a multi-million-pound investment programme for all indoor leisure centre’s that Trafford Leisure run on behalf of the council. move Urmston is complete, move Altrincham re-opens later this year and the doors close to Partington close late this year as this centre’s refurbishment programme commences. The Plans are at varying stages for the last two centre’s – Stretford and Sale which once complete will provide residents of Trafford with inspiring, fit for purpose and exciting spaces for our local Trafford residents to move more every day.   

Yes, the price increase will apply to all memberships, including linked memberships. Currently, customers enjoy a 10% discount when opting for combined memberships. However, with the new pricing structure, this discount will also be affected. The breakdown of your new monthly fee will reflect the adjusted rates for both individual memberships within the linked membership package. You can however turn up and pay by card. But please arrive at least 10 minutes before to make sure there is space.

Please note! Once you have submitted your booking for any pay and play activity, unless otherwise stated, it cannot be cancelled, refunded or rearranged to another date or time. You will only be entitled to a refund if your pay and play activity is cancelled by Trafford Leisure for circumstances beyond our control.

If you are a member you can book 7 days in advance and if you pay-and-play, you can book 5 days in advance.

The junior gym fitness sessions are available for children aged 11-15 years. These will take place in designated areas of Trafford Leisure’s gyms at Sale Leisure Centre, Altrincham Leisure Centre, Stretford Sports Village and move Urmston. All sessions must be booked online in advance.

When entering the pool, please select the correct lane / space for your ability – for example slow, medium or fast. Please be prepared to move lanes if the lifeguard asks you to. It is a requirement that customers can swim a minimum of 50 metres

Please remember that your fellow swimmers are of different standards and abilities and you will be using the pool at the same time, so please respect everyone’s right to enjoy their swim

  • Changing rooms will be available if you have booked a swimming activity with us
  • Please use the cubicles and designated changing areas provided
  • Lockers will remain in use

Showers will remain in use, but where possible please shower at home to help reduce the traffic in the changing rooms

Spectating is allowed for general swimming and for lessons, but for our swimming lessons, where possible we ask that only one adult attend with each child

Swimming aids will be provided for all children during swimming lessons. For general swimming, please bring your own swimming aids as there’ll be no swimming equipment available. Therefore if you wish to use a noodle, armbands or a float, then you must bring your own.

Yes, now we have group booking options on some of our swim activities to ensure you can secure places for your group in one booking

If you joined our Swim Well membership in Jan 2022 free swimming is not included, children can still attend lane and general swim for £2.60.

For people living with a disability or those with long term medical or health conditions looking to build their water confidence and enjoy the benefits of swimming. (Small Pool Only).

We have a disability changing room situated in our village change, this includes a toilet, shower and changing bed. To gain access to the small pool we have gradual steps leading into the pool with a hand rail. We also have an Oxford Dipper Pool Hoist, please ask on your arrival if you require.

We have changed some of our sessions so that you can book any 15-minute time slot and guarantee an 1 hours swim and have more flexibility.

After your first 3 months with us, you can cancel your flexible membership. To do this, please follow the link below.

In choosing this payment option you are committing to pay a monthly amount by Direct Debit for a minimum of either 6 or 12 full calendar months. In return you receive a discounted rate. You will not be able to lower the level of payment on this payment option or cancel within the minimum 6 or 12 months. You will not be able to cancel this membership except for the reasons set up in section 5 of these terms and conditions.

Upon arrival, a member of staff will be on hand to meet and greet you and to show you the way. They will also check you in by via a tablet or kiosk. Please follow social distancing rules.

Members will join through the new membership journey from the 9th of March 2023.  Trafford Leisure will be completing Direct Debit runs from the 1st of April 2023.

Our classes/activities will vary between 30 – 50 minutes: Group exercise = 45 minutes, smaller class = 30 minutes, spin = 30 minutes, THE TRIP = 45 minutes. Please follow the link below to our full timetable.

No one under the age of 16 can do exercise classes at present.


An Active Trafford pass holder is an individual specialist membership that ensures that where financial support is required for someone to be active, they can access facilities and activities at the leisure centres. The pass holder will be able to access swimming, the gym and classes online and benefit from a discounted rate.

Active Trafford pay-and-play customers can access activities Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm & Saturday to Sunday, 9am-12pm.

We have made the process of renewal simple for our customers.

Recognising these uncertain times, the £20 fee will now ensure that no renewal is needed for 3 years. Please present proof of your status on your first visit to show that you are eligible for the type of scheme you have purchased online.

Active Trafford student pass, low income and unemployed will cost £5 per three months. In order to renew every three months, you will need to present proof of student status or low income / unemployment on your first visit after each renewal.
